8th Wonder Tea is a company with consciousness as its cornerstone.

We endeavor to enact positive change in every step of the sourcing, production, and formulation process and never sacrifice our founding ecological principles.

Through our partnership with 1% for the Planet, 8th Wonder is able to join in a global network of more than 1,200 member companies in 48 countries contributing 1% of their sales to over 3,300 non-profits. Our particular contributions are third party verified through 1% for the Planet's organization and allocated to The Nature Conservancy whose initiatives include environmental programs in all the regions where we currently source: India, China, and Kenya. Through close interaction with both the Boulder and Denver, Colorado regional offices, our company stays informed of the developments instituted in these impacted regions by The Nature Conservancy's devoted staff. Key areas of incremental change that we are currently helping to finance through sales donations are conservation planning, freshwater, marine and terrestrial conservation monitoring, climate science initiatives, and public policy expertise and public funding.

In addition to these social and environmental programs, 8th Wonder attempts transparency in labeling: we practice what we preach and never use Genetically Modified (GMO) ingredients. All of our products are Certified Organic by The Colorado Department of Agriculture (CDA) and our green and black tea supplies are Fair Trade Certified and grown with integrity through organic farming. We believe that paying a little extra for organically sourced ingredients also pays it forward to the people who harvest these precious resources, their families, and the collective health of their communities by minimizing exposure to pesticides and noxious chemicals. Moreover, tea tastes better when grown with love and care and these working conditions under organic agriculture act as incentives to promote that kind of stewardship. Happy farmers translate to happy consumers and a closed looped cycle of climate friendly, ecologically sustaining production procedures we can all feel good about.

On a more localized level, 8th Wonder believes that reducing waste isn't just the obvious environmental responsibility of a company but economically advantageous. The more that can be reused and repurposed the less raw materials required to be extracted from delicate ecosystems and less expense to people, habitats, and profits. Since we are a premium craft tea product it logically follows to use the highest quality glass ensuring that no phthalates or BPA from plastics are leached into the teas themselves or the living environments of our customers. Additionally, our 16 oz. glass bottles are 100% recyclable and can be recycled endlessly without any loss in purity or material quality. One ton of carbon dioxide is reduced for every six tons of recycled container glass used in the manufacturing process and any way that 8th Wonder can reduce emissions is a route that we refuse to overlook.

It is our conviction that we are one global family coexisting on one planet and we have one chance to get the situation right environmentally, socially, and economically. There are no shortcuts to high quality premium tea of our caliber and without awareness of our consumption choices at every stage in logistics, 8th Wonder would not taste as monumentally different and pure from one bottle to another. Doing the right thing creates the right tastes and intentions behind each bottle from soil to shelf. So take a sip and taste the living connections between exotic locales, delicious tea, and our dedicated team of farmers, producers, and visionaries behind everything we do.
